T001A Lehmann Mfg. Co. Germany Motorcycle
- This is an excellent all original tin wind up motorcycle. This same toy is featured in the following reference book, 'Motorcycle Toys, Antique and Contemporary Identification & Values', by Sally Gibson-Downs and Christine Gentry. The toy is featured on page 90 and 91 (D). The toy is called, 'Touring Rider / Lehmann', 'Tank, Standing Boy rider, Action/Circling, Tdmk 'EPL' Spindle, Mark '725', Vintage cycle, Stabs. Lehmann, Ernest Paul, Germany. 1917 - 35. Flywheel Coil Spring. Bright Blue cycle - white tires, blue rims, unpainted wagon spokes/forks. 'ECHO' white. Dark brown trim on rider. 8 1/2" long.' As you can see this fits the description of my Lehmann Motorcycle completely. There is some worn paint on my cycle however for the age and for how scarce this toy is to find, I would still call this toy very good condition and again it is all original. Note the flywheel coil spring a unique feature. The following patents are on the motorcycle, 'PAT'D U-ST-A '12 MAI 1903' '2-JAN-1905' '22-JAN-1907'. If you are a serious toy collector you know that a toy like this doesn't come up for sale that often, so you won't want to miss the opportunity to add this toy to your own collection. Please email us with any questions. Stands approximately 6 3/4" high.
