(click on pictures to enlarge then click on back button to return) C160C Tramp Art Cabinet - American Folk ArtThis is a full size curio cabinet dating back to the 1890's. A gentleman in Breda, Iowa made it for a lady by the name of Mary Rife for room and board. Her great nephew decided to sell it at auction in Sac City, Iowa. It measures 63" tall (72.5" tall with back piece), 45" across, 15"deep. It has glass on both sides and 2 hinged front doors with glass centers to show off what maybe displayed inside. The inside of the cabinet is painted an off white to tan color. The decorative top measures 9.5" and can be detached from the cabinet. It is a wonder, rare piece. Rare to find full size furniture pieces in tramp art. It is truly one of a kind. There are a few pieces that have fallen off. I have a plastic bag with some of the pieces. Over all and considering the age, it is in great condition. It was displayed at the 2008 Oronoco, MN Gold Rush Antique Show and received rave reviews! $4500. Price Reduced to $4000.
