D011B  Black Americana Folk Art Doll

This is an excellent piece of Black Americana with this oil cloth doll dressed in appropriate underclothing and dress. Notice the painted on brown shoes and the painted facial features on a black background oil cloth. The wig has one side that has a small amount of deterioration. The overall condition of the doll is still very good. We were told that this doll was acquired at a public auction in the Topeka, Kansas area from a family auction for a black African American family. The doll measures 16" in length.
