This is a cute all original Buddy Lee Engineer Doll. He is all complete including his original hat and red scarf. On the back of the doll between the shoulder blades embossed in the plastic these dolls are marked, 'Buddy Lee'. He measures 12 1/2" high. His clothes are in excellent condition. Very good all original condition on this cute doll! What a great addition to one's collection this little guy would make. Don't miss out on adding him to yours. Following is some helpful information on Buddy Lee Dolls.
Buddy Lee Dolls, the trademark of clothing maker H.D. Lee Co. Inc. were manufactured from 1920 to 1963. The doll was first made of composition plaster, which was easily broken. By the late 1940's, it was made of hard plastic. The doll's mold was changed in 1949, when his legs were thinned and bowed to look more like a bowlegged cowboy with pants on. Thinner legs also made him easier to dress. Lee clothed their Buddy Lee dolls in all types of Lee uniforms and work clothing, such as a cowboy, engineer, gas station attendant, Coca-Cola deliveryman, etc. Accessories were made elsewhere. - SOLD
