F094C Walnut Dowry Chest Hand Carved
This is a beautiful carved walnut Dowry chest. The carving is well done. On the inside of the lid there is carving that reads In the olden time this Chest of mine A daughter's guerdon would be To have and to hold for her to enfold Her maiden phantaspy. There is a tray that fits in the top and the heavy thick lid is supported with brass hinges with original lock and key. Measures 42" x 24" and 21" Height. Came from eastern Indiana family. - SOLD
