F207B Victorian Walnut Sideboard - Alexander Roux
Fantastic walnut Victorian sideboard attributed to Alexander Roux, NYC. This piece has a fabulous open fruit carved crest with an wolf's head in the middle. There is a graduated two shelf gallery under the crest with fruit carved supports and highly figured panels surrounded by a shaped molding. . The base has two drawers with carved pulls and two cupboard doors beneath. The front two cupboard doors are decorated with a rabbit and bird carving and the other panel has fish. Notice the highly figured burled wood all the panels. Note the heavy lock on the doors that would lock from the bottom as well as the top. The top two drawers were locked with one middle lock. Measures 93" Height, 67 1/2" Width and 23" Depth. Circa 1860. - SOLD
