(click on pictures to enlarge then click on back button to return) F271C Pair of Oak Bookcase - MaceyThis is a pair of five high sectional stacking quarter sawn oak bookcase that is signed by it's maker, 'Macey' Fred Macey Co. Grand Rapids, Michigan. Each section has original black labels. This pair of bookcases have a beaded decorated trim on the very top section and made with beautiful solid quarter sawn oak . The doors have double metal knobs with the spring loaded mechanism that freely opens and shuts with ease. There is an interior stamp that indicates these bookcases were shipped all over the world and patended here in the United States at the turn of the Century (1900).The exterior measurements are 75" high, 34" wide, and 10" deep. One could store a lot of books inside this bookcases and in fact some people use these bookcases as display cabinets. These bookcases came from Christoper Watkins of Columbia Missouri. Chris is a 5th generation lawyer and these bookcases have been passed down in the family originally purchased around 1911 by O. W. Watkins Sr. where the were in the German American Bank Building at 7th & Felix in Saint Joesph Missouri and passed down to his son O.W.Watkins. Jr. to his son Thomas D. Watkins and to his son T.
