Exquisite piece of signed 'Daum Nancy' cameo art glass. This 6 1/2" high x 7" diameter tri colored cameo cut globe shaped vase depicts a scene of ten fishing boats in sail on a lake. Varying shades of green, orange, and black colors make this an exceptional piece of cameo art glass! Perfect all original condition. Nice ground pontil. Guaranteed old and in fact this piece came from a personal collection.
We were thrilled to be able to acquire this piece from the Alvin & Margaret Schmidt Estate Auction. The Schmidt's were from Waterloo, Iowa. Here is a note that was listed on the auction sale bill concerning the Schmidt's. 'There are very few collections that equal what Margaret and her late husband Alvin Schmidt of Iowa have collected. For many years, the Schmidt's have managed to collect some of the most attractive antiques available. Their obvious goal was to find items in excellent condition with a wide variety of interest. We believe they succeeded in both.
