G076C Colorful Chicos Spanish Peanut Jar - glass

The Curtiss Candy Company was founded in 1916 by Otto Schnering outside of Chicago, Illinois. Most famous for their Baby Ruth and Butterfinger candy bars, they also marketed their "Chicos Spanish Peanuts". This wonderful store dispensing jar, circa 1920, was made especially for their Spanish peanuts. The metal stand is embossed on all sides "Curtiss - Chicos Spanish Peanuts - 5 cents. The clear glass jar, approximately 9" square, has on its base the embossed lettering "Curtiss Candy Co - Chicago - Mechanical and Design Pats Pend". With the metal lid the jar stands 11 3/4" tall. The paint is in very good condition. - $775
