G151B Wedgwood Jasperware Sardine Box
This is a very unusual piece of signed, 'Wedgwood' that has been done in the shape of a sardine storage piece. The Wedgwood sardine box is decorated in sacrifice figures jasperware designs and this box is held secure in a signed scrolling silver plated holder that is topped with two fish that support a fork rest for serving the sardines. The holder measures 5" x 7 1/4" and stands 7" high. Notice the round button style feet and top finial on this holder. The silver plated lid is stamped on the underside with the initials, 'E.P.N.S.', the holder is also impressed with four letters however it is a little more difficult to read the letters, and I am not certain, but perhaps, it is the same, E.P.N.S.'. This is an excellent all original piece of signed Wedgwood jasperware that would be sure to be a highlight in any fine collection. The fork with this sardine box is signed, '1887 Rogers Bros.'. - SOLD
