G170C Tall Brauer Vase Pickard Artist - Beetle Design - Art Deco
Tall and narrow, straight line art deco styled vase with gold highlights and a bug or beetle design on this colorful vase. The vase has two trademarks however it is difficult to completely read both of the markings. The bottom of the vase is signed with two markings one a green crown emblem signature and the second a red toned signature which we have been able to identify. The red marking is the trademark signature, 'Jul. H. Brauer - Hand Painted China'. Julius H. Brauer worked for Pickard for 18 months before opening his own studio in his home. Brauer operated from 1903 to 1926. Please note that in the reference book, Collector's Encyclopedia of Pickard China - by Alan B. Reed on page 246, you can see this trademark correctly identified. This vase measures 12 1/4" high with a diameter of 2 1/4" diameter on the bottom, 2" diameter opening and at the widest approximately 4 1/2" diameter. This is a beautiful piece that is in excellent all original condition, with only very minor wear showing on the gold. You will not want to miss adding this fine piece to your own personal hand painted china collections. - $495.
