G181B  Antique Ceiling Light Fixture - 5 Sockets

This is a heavy and well built old antique cast metal light fixture that would mount and hang from one's ceiling. Notice on the round open metal filigree circle there is done in the metal two dragon type figures with scrolling tails. This round circle measures 3 1/2" in diameter. The top ceiling mount measures 4 3/4" diameter, with chain links support the weight of the chandelier fixture. This fixture supports five sockets each socket extending out on it's own individual arm. A very unique feature on this ceiling fixture is that each socket has a decorative bronze type inverted cup like plate that screws on around each socket for an added decorative look. One can remove these decorative rims and then on the inside of each remaining socket there is still three small screws that would allow one to attach to each socket a glass globe for a unique and special different look using this same ceiling fixture. One would want to have this fixture rewired as the original wires have some bare places and the heavy bronze type metal could use a cleaning as the fixture is all complete but it does show that it has been stored where there was some moisture as there is minimal rust. This is a beautiful and all original old antique ceiling light fixture that is like having two ceiling fixtures in one with the two options of decorative coverings for the socket covers. Each socket is approximately 3 3/4" wide measuring the bronze cups that are screwed onto the sockets. Just the socket is 2 1/2" diameter and one would need a glass insert that was a smaller diameter than the 2 1/2" if looking for the glass shades, to allow the shade to slide into the socket. Approximate diameter across the light fixture from one socket the opposite socket is about 18 1/2" wide. This is a beautiful piece of antique architectural metalwork that would make an exceptional addition to one's own home and antique collections. - $295.
