Exquisite coloring on this signed piece of, 'Libbey' art glass compote. Notice the fuchsia to golden coloring that makes this the amberina piece that it is and such a beautiful piece of signed art glass. The compote is signed with an etched 'Libbey' signature around the base. The signature requires one to thoroughly examine the piece to locate the signature. The compote stands 5 1/2" high around the rippled or ruffled top. The wide top mouth has almost a morning glory shape and is 7 1/4" wide and the base has a diameter of 3". This compote is in exceptional all original condition, and this piece is guaranteed to be a highlight in any fine amberina collection that you might have. We acquired this item at the estate auction for Verla Mundell of Cozad, Nebraska. The sale bill quoted, 'Verla Mundell and her husband Jack had spent over 30 years traveling and collecting antiques all over the United States. Jack said they would travel to the end of the road and ask each other 'where to this week?' It is obvious that Verla and Jack found plenty to do over this 30-year period of time. Their collection featured one of the largest single Gone with the Wind Lamp collections that the auctioneers stated that they had every sold. The auction was held here in the Midwest part of the state of Nebraska, at Cozad.
