G191B End of Day Pickle Castor

This is an exceptional and very rare 'End of Day' art glass insert in this Victorian pickle castor. The holder is signed, 'Pairpoint Mfg. Co.' 'Quadruple plate 659'. Twisted sides on this holder loosen up at the top and the very top is highlighted with a scrolling floral basket design. This beautiful holder stands an impressive 11 1/2" high the bottom diameter is 4 1/4". This pickle castor is all complete with holder, end of insert, silver plated lid and pickle tongs. The silver plated lid has a detailed etched design that complements the scrolling floral design of the holder, as note the finial top on this lid. This is a beautiful piece. The end of day insert measures 4 1/4" high and the diameter is 3 1/2" at the widest point. The insert has a cased interior, on the very top there is two rough places when circling the rim with your finger. This is quite common as the removing and replacing of the lid would expose this surface to hard use. There is no cracks in the sides or bottom the insert is all original and very good condition.
