G453B Abe Lincoln Portrait Stoneware Pitcher

Excellent all original condition on this fine example of blue and white stoneware with the portrait of President Abraham Lincoln on either side and a border around the base of the pitcher that depicts a nature setting in an outdoor wooded area and a log home in the background. This pitcher measures 8" high at the spout, and the diameter of the base is 6 1/4". Excellent all original condition with no cracks or chips. Upon doing some research these blue and white pitchers were made by the Uhl Pottery in Indiana and there was about five different sizes made. This particular pitcher was bought on an estate auction in St. Joseph, Illinois. These Lincoln portrait stoneware pitchers are featured in the antique reference book, 'Antique Trader Price Guide Stoneware' 1981 Edition on page 269. This is an excellent find and what an outstanding addition it would make to one's own personal blue and white stoneware collections. - SOLD
