G504B Limoges 11Pc. Turkey Game Set Artist Sign
This is the finest Limoges game set that we have ever found and we are thrilled to be able to offer this eleven piece set for sale. This set is signed with the Limoges green flambeau mark. Circa 1900 - 1910. In the reference book 'Limoges - by Waterbrook and Clyde' on page 201 you will find a similar set featured. The largest and most impressive piece is the large game serving platter which measures 21 1/4" wide by 15 1/4". Each piece is signed by the same artist, 'Sara', (except for one plate is not signed, however it is without a doubt her artwork as you cannot tell which plate it is) and notice how the entire surface of each piece is fully painted and decorated. Each plate is unique to it's self with a different scene in each plate yet the same subject matter of a tom and hen gobbler are featured. The plate mold that was selected for this set does an excellent job of bursting out the scene and was an excellent match for this set to be painted on. All eleven pieces are in exceptional all original condition. The ten plates are all the same size and they measure 10" in diameter. You will not want to miss adding this exceptional find to your own personal Limoges collection and if you collect items that feature a turkey this set would be without a doubt a must! - SOLD
