M037B  Country Store Cast Iron String Holder

This is an all original old cast iron country store string holder. There is two cone shaped spool holders and some of the original string is even still there. On the inside of the rolls of string there is paper labels that read, 'Clark's - Fox - Three Cord - 6000 Yds. Left - Unbleached'. The black string has the same label plus another label from the, 'Coats & Clark's Sales Corp.' Each string measures, 5" in height. The base on the cast iron string holder is weighted to support the purpose of the string holder. Originally you could have screwed this string holder onto a counter for securing it. Signed in embossed letters around the base of this string holder it reads, 'Simanco - USA - 202490'. At the very top there is also more embossed wordage, on the left hand side it reads, 'KC' and on the opposite right hand side, 'USA'. The total height is 18" high at the widest is 8 1/2" and the base is 4" diameter. 
This particular string holder came from an old general store in Elk City, Nebraska. - $295.
