(click on pictures to enlarge then click on back button to return) M048C Oak Base Marble Top Drug Store Scale BalanceAll original old pharmaceutical drug store scale that weighs with a dial scale that when in balance the arrows will be in alignment on the front dial. Two brass trays are on the top of this scale. Impressed in the bottoms of the trays is the following information; 'H.Troemner Maker Philadelphia'. The brass trays have a diameter of 9". Brown speckled granite marble top with a beveled edge is very attractive a top the quarter sawn oak base with beaded trim that encircles the scale. The base of this scale measures 20 1/2" x 9", and the height of this scale with trays is approximately 9" high. Four little round button feet raise this scale up from off the counter surface, and notice on the back side of this scale there is a signature that reads, 'N.Y.C. Appd. Type No. 17 Serial No. W-2. Henry Troemner Maker Philadelphia, PA'. If you collect old drug store pieces then you will be sure to want to add this piece to your own collection. There is a similar scale to this one that I have featured on page 18 in the reference book titled, 'Drug Store and Soda Fountain Antiques' by Douglas Congdon-Martin. - $575 |
