M192B  Hotpoint Large Tailor Iron & Trivet

This is a large and heavy early electric Hotpoint Company Tailor iron and supporting trivet. The iron still has it's manufacture label attached on the end and it reads, 'Tailor Hotpoint Iron - Volt 110, Amp. 9.1, Lbs. 25, Date 7-16, Patented, Model H, Hotpoint Electric Heating Co. - New York, Chicago, Ontario, Cal. Vancouver, Toronto'. What a strong arm one must have acquired to have operated this 25 pound iron for a day's ironing. The cord is frayed and I would not recommend trying to operate this iron without a new cord being placed onto this iron. This iron measures 12" in length is 4" wide and approximately 7" high, and when on the resting trivet the height becomes 8 1/2" high. Original black wooden handle on this Hotpoint iron that came from out of a popular and well known clothing store in Yankton, South Dakota called, 'Toggery'. - SOLD
