M365B Tin Sign Dr. Stork Picture Anheuser Busch Advertising
This tin advertising sign or picture was made by, 'Dr. Stork - Malt Nutrine Department - Anheuser - Busch, St. Louis, Missouri'. Note that on the backside of this picture it reads, 'This little picture which we hope you will find suitable for hanging in your office or reception room is one of a series that we will from time to time send the medical profession of the United States. You will observe the picture has no name, 'Coming Events Cast Their Shadows Before' has been suggested as a title. What would you suggest? To the doctor who first fives the most appropriate title we will pay two hundred and fifty dollars in gold. Prize will be awarded Sept. 1, 1915. Answers will be duly acknowledged and the name of winner of the contest as well as the title selected will me mailed to each contestant.' This picture has a tin over paper construction and notice how the edges are curved back. In the lower left hand corner of this picture on the front it is signed, 'Copyright 1915 - Anheuser Busch - St. Louis'. Picture measures 12 3/4" x 7 3/4". This particular picture hung in the office of Dr. W.C. Brashear given to him by the Malt Nutrine Department of the Anheuser Busch Co. of St. Louis.' This picture appears to depict a doctor in a hurry to a well lit home and notice the silhouette of a stork in the foot steps of the doctor. This picture is in very good all original condition. Great picture with multiple collecting points of beer advertising and medical related. - SOLD
