P035B 1912 'Brother' Poem Arts & Crafts Style
This poem is done in the Arts and Crafts style with an wooden frame and the poem talks about a Brother. We have seen poems like this before but usually they are done for a Mother, and we have not seen as many with the subject matter of a brother. This poem is dated, 'Copyright 1912 Emma E. Koehler, Chicago.' The poem reads, 'You know how it is with a BROTHER. He'll worry you till you cry; But somehow you always love him, Though you never can tell just why. A friend may be yours, yet forget you, For a mere little flaw some day; But a brother is always a brother, And it's comfy along life's way.
Something else that makes this print with poem special is that written in someone's own penmanship on the backside it reads, 'Property of James Everett Rhodefer Sr. 301 Halleck St. Moberly, MO from brother A. Melvin', and it is dated 1943.' This frame measures 8 1/2" x 11 1/2". What fun this collector's item could be sharing it with a brother.
