P048C Dusty Roads Lithograph Print by Syd Griffin Tramp Walking
Unique subject matter of an elderly tramp walking down a dusty dirt road. This is an all original old print done with a die cut lithograph technique to give the print a real life appearance. This print is titled, 'Dusty Roads' and in the lower right hand corner is the signature of the original artist, 'Syd Griffin'. Syd Griffin (1854-1910) was the primary cartoonist for Truth magazine in New York. He created the back cover, containing full color insightful cartoons for which the magazine was known. He worked with Rose O'Neill at Truth ten years before she invented the Kewpie characters. Griffin was also a regular contributor to many other magazines. Along the very bottom in the center of this print it reads, 'Original painting only copyrighted by Sydney B. Griffin 1905'. This is a larger print that measures 13" x 24 1/2" in the oak frame. This is a nice print one that you are sure to enjoy adding to any fine antique collection.
