P130B 'The Angelus' Irish Harvest Antique Print
This is a very appropriate and thought provoking print of a man and woman praying and giving thanks for the potato crop that they have harvested. This well known print is known as 'The Angelus', when the church bells would ring, people of Ireland would stop what they were doing and bow their heads in prayer. This would happen three times a day, is what we have been told. The amount of the harvest is small, yet they are praying over the harvest none the less. The print is done in natural colors with a small amount of tinting to bring some color to the print. The print is in its original frame and it measures 24" wide by 20" high. On the backside of the print there is still an original sticker that reads: 'Lincoln Fine Arts & Co. - Artistic Framing - Lincoln, Nebraska'. This print would make an excellent print to hang in one's dining area, to remind us to give thanks for what we have been given. We also have a plate with this same scene on it in inventory.
