P134B  Large Print Song of the Lark 1906 

This is a excellent find to have this old all original print with so much information on the backside of the print. This print is in excellent all original condition and it measures 17 3/4" 22 1/2". In the lower left hand corner of the print there is the following information, 'Jules Breton 1886'. This print has the label from the framing company which did the work, 'LaFreniere Art Products Mgrs. Of Hand Modeled Frames, Everett, Washington'. Along with the name of the framing company there is also the following information regarding the print which is titled, Song of the Lark. 'The Song of the Lark - Jules Adolphe Breton - The Song of the Lark of which this is a reproduction in eight color tinto Gravure made direct from the original is one of Breton's finest paintings. The sun is just peeping above the horizon, turning the blue of the sky to rose. The farmhouse in the distance is still sleeping, while the sturdy French peasant girl is on her way to a task, for which she has little enthusiasm hears above her the song of the morning lark, and with her voice joins in its joyous melody. The Song of the Lark may correctly be included in the ten most popular paintings in the world. It is the best liked of all paintings in the Art Institute of Chicago. -SOLD
