P091A Morning Oval WoodBlock Print Artist Signed

This is an excellent example of what I have always been told is a woodblock or woodcut print. Notice that this scene is titled, 'Morning', and it is signed on the left hand side with what could be the artist signature of, 'J.B. Greuze, Pinx'. In Davenport's Art Reference Guide there is a French artist named, Jean Baptiste Greuze listed, I am not certain if this is definitely the same artist. Again, on this woodblock it is not a hand signature it is just the printed names. Also, note that on the right hand portion of the print there is a second signature of 'F. Joubert, SC'. I am not definite on the names, but what I do know is that this oval walnut framed print is done with great quality and detail. Just look at her eyes and how they capture you when looking at this print. The frame measures 12 1/2" x 10 1/2", and the frame comes out away from the wall 1 1/4". What an outstanding piece of art this print is. Don't miss enjoying it in your own personal antique collection. -  SOLD
