This is a unique stick and ball design wood and cast-iron mechanism doll bed and rocking cradle combination. The cradle mechanism which allows the bed to rock is made of cast iron and note that there are wheels for ease in moving the crib around one’s home. The stick and ball design of this bed is very attractive and unique. The headboard measures 41 1/2″ high while the footboard is 34″ high. The interior dimensions where the mattress fits measures 41″ x 19″. This crib came from out of a home in the Fort Dodge, Iowa area. Note the cute mattress that is in this crib that is decorated with the Sunbonnet baby’s fabric. The mattress has is original manufacture label that reads, ‘Simmons’ and the mattress has a patent date of 1929. The crib/cradle dates to the Victorian era and the mattress have been added over the years. What a rare and exceptional find this stick and ball designed crib is and we are thrilled to be able to offer it for sale.
