T087A Wood Pull Toy Black Memoribilia made by Hustler
What a cute toy! This all original old wood pull toy has the drivers hands and the horse's head moving up and down in corresponding working order as the wheels go around. This toy still has it's original manufacturer's label that reads; 'Hustler Toy Corporation - Sterling Illinois' The horse has cute leather ears, and the only thing that is missing on this toy is the string. There would have been a string connected to the horse's bridle and the drivers hands, and there would have been a string for pulling this cute wood toy. This toy is also desirable with the black memorabilia collectablity of the toy. Notice the cute and expressive facial features of this little man. The toy measures 11" long, stands 5 3/4" high and the width is 4 1/4" wide. This is a great all original old toy.
Hustler Toy Company was formed in 1924, and in the late 1920's they took over the Toylander Corporation, a toy manufacturer in Sterling, Illinois. Some of the goose pull toy and possibly other toys are marked Hustler while others are marked Toylander. The chief designer was Clare A. Wetzel, and his name appears on almost all Frantz and Hustler patents.
Hustler Toy Company made wood toys well into the 1930's and seemed to have stopped by 1939.
