W052B Nebraska Leather License Plates Nebraska Pair

This is an unusual find as we have a pair of old leather license plates for the state of Nebraska, and both plates have the same vehicle number on them. The number is '55494 Neb'. The license are still in the original condition, and both are still very good. Notice how the leather is still all intact and sewn entirely around the license. You can see indentions on the license where the plates were attached to the vehicle at some time. We guarantee that this are authentic old leather license plates dating to around the 1910 circa. These plates were found stored away in a wooden box in a garage in Clarks, Nebraska when a family bought the home, and discovered them in 1968. The plates measure 14" x 6" and notice how the plates are raised around the edges and you can feel a metal frame underneath the leather cover. It is quite unusual to have two license plates with the same vehicle number of this vintage. This is the first pair that I have ever seen. The flash from my camera created a little bit of distortion from the chrome plated numbers. If you collect old leather license plates then you will not want to miss out on this exceptional find! SOLD
