W148B  Victorian Rosewood Foot Warmer Ottoman

This is an early Victorian Rosewood ottoman foot warmer that is all complete with the hot water bottle container. Notice the handle that allows one to carry this foot warmer easily. This warmer was used when riding in a buggy on a cold winter's night, or anywhere one's toes and feet were going to be exposed to the cold weather for a longer period of time. The top of the foot warmer is covered in carpet fabric, very appropriate for the time period of this foot warmer. The top is hinged to expose the interior where the hot water bottle is concealed. Beautiful rosewood has been used when making this foot warmer. The ottoman measures 11 1/2" x 10", and is only 4" high.
