W217B Photo of Man and his Sword Masonic Lodge
What an exciting combination to still have this original photographed sword
and picture of Brig. Gen. W. Aug Eberly, Commanding Second Brigade, Wooster, Ohio.
The matted picture with wooden frame identifies the gentleman with his full
attire and ceremonial sword and sheath. Notice that on the sword its self it is
personalized as well, 'W. Aug. Eberly' on the decorative blade. The sword is
also marked, Made by the M.V. Villey & Co. - Columbus, Ohio'. The handle of
the sword has fancy brass ormolu highlights and scrolling, also notice on the
handle's end there is the shape of the globe with a crown on top. The
sword when placed into the sheath measures 34 1/2" long. The picture frame
measures 22 1/4" x 31". Someone wrote an email to us and informed us
of the following information: This Man is a
member of an Oddfellows lodge. This sword is an Oddfellows sword based
on the M1860/ diplomatic style.- SOLD
