Exceptional all original example of Amphora pottery that depicts a full figured dog posed looking at a small frog! This is a remarkable piece of pottery and it is one of the examples of this pattern that is a featured piece in the antique Amphora reference book titled, ‘The House of Amphora’ by Richard L. Scott on page 118. This vase is model number 4115 and dates 1900 to 1901. Design is by Eduard Stellmacher. Hard earthenware with natural earth tones and a modeled figure of a dog and small frog, leaves in relief. This vase measures 10 1/2″ high and the top opening is 3 1/4″ diameter while the widest point is approximately 11″ to the tip of the dog’s tail.
