Antique Early Number 2 Salt Glaze Cobalt Jug Campbell – Penn Yan Stoneware

Number 2 early salt glaze ovoid or beehive shaped crock jug with cobalt blue design of a plant or flower. Notice the impressed wordage, ‘Campbell Penn Yan’. This crock would be from the New York area and has a crack (that I have taken a photo of) and measures 15 1/2″ high and at widest has a diameter of 9″, with the base measuring just 7 1/4″. This early crock jug has wonderful character and uniqueness, notice how there is cobalt blue swipes around where the handle attaches to the jug.
