Antique Hand Hammered Andirons and Fire Screen

Product #M307A

These are two very nice Arts and Crafts Andirons they have the hand hammered marks with classical design of this period. They have a wrought iron fender that is made to slide down into the slot that was built on each andiron. I have not seen this before and would assume that this was and added safety measure for its time.
There is a matching three-panel mesh fire screen is decorated with hand hammered wrought iron design with beautiful blacksmith work. Overall measures: 35” x 57”
This was all purchase from the same estate were that they were made by Merle Dodge who was one of the early day Blacksmiths in Manhattan, Ks. and created many works and Included the Iron gates at the entry of Kansas State University. –
