This original Post Office Sign came from Smithfield Nebraska is painted on an old wide pine board that is 20″ and 10′ length. This old sign hung on the Post Office in Smithfield, Nebraska building. Note the original old crusty paint and the folky art lettering. This sign is photographed on the building in the Centennial Book 1890 -1990 on Smithfield Nebraska Small Town – Big Heart on page 220. Edwin Bigelow was appointed postmaster in 1912.
