Black and Chrome Singer Toy Sewing Machine. This is the No. 20 is what the book shows and the machine is marked “The Singer Mangf. Co.. Above the Singer emblem this sewing machine is signed in gold letters, ‘Made in Great Britain’. These small sewing machines were marketed solely as real sewing machines for girls and were often given away to help imprint the Singer name in the mind of the future sewing machine buyer or young seamstress of tomorrow. Circa approximately 1940’s to early 50’s.. It is in good original condition, still works and is complete with the storage box, instruction booklet and C-clamp. The handle turns easily. The storage box has written in pencil on the top lightly the name, ‘Sonja Peterson – Callender, Iowa’. This is a precious little black Singer toy sewing machine and would be a great addition to any collection. It measures approx. 7″ long, 6 1/2″ high and 3 1/2” wide.
