Antique Tin Wind Up Mechanical Airplane Toy Woods – Girard Toys – Louis Marx

This toy is quite a find to still have an original box that would have held this toy airplane when it was sold. Notice that this all original tin wind up airplane is marked on the plane as a Girard Mechanical Toys and the wing span is 10″ wide. Note all the information on the box along with the detailed graphics which refer to this toy as a Wood’s Mechanical Airplane – Girard Model Works – Wood’s Mechanical Toys – Girard, PA, USA’. And the box also states that Louis Marx & Co. Inc, out of New York City was a Distributors for this toy. Girard Model Works Toys were founded in 1906. This toy is still in original working condition and what a great find to still have the partial box.
