This is a unique and beautiful Victorian art glass sweetmeat that features two side epergne vases on either side of the sweetmeat dish and all three pieces are secured in a beautiful three-legged leaf and branches styled silverplated holder. Note the hallmarks and markings on the underneath side of this silverplated holder. Exceptional Rubina Verde art glass with the epergnes featuring a petunia or pansy style fluted tops and incised opalescent designs, while the sweetmeat is decorated with an applied rigaree circle that secures this sweetmeat into the silver-plated holder. Note that one of the epergne flutes is engraved with the lettering and numbers, ‘Rd 211778’, this would date this piece to 1893. This piece stands 10 1/4″ high and with the two epergne flutes inserted this piece is 7 3/4″ wide. We have never seen a sweetmeat with epergne trumpet vases on the sides before, this is a piece that you will not want to miss adding to your own personal art glass collection.
