All original ‘Brandt Automatic Cashier’ Coin Machine. The last listed patent date for these Brandt Automatic Cashier is 1926, is what we were told. This machine has beautiful engraving all around the machine, notice the winged type design. This machine is in full working order with all of its keys present and accounted for. The object of the machine was to make a given payment of change or gold by the depression of a single key, thus eliminating the work of selecting the coins necessary to make the payment. For instance, when the key 87 is depressed the machine delivers the least number of coins necessary to make the payment and in this case these coins would be in a half dollar, a quarter, a dime, and two pennies. The machine measures 11 high and is 14″ deep by 8 3/4″ wide. Good original condition, with the rubber pads around the legs showing minor deterioration. We were told that this machine was used in one of the banks in Ames, Iowa.
