Antique Bronze Metal Bookends -Two Boys holding a Fish – 1927. On the back side reads: “Souvenir- Formal Opening – The Stevens – The World’s Greatest Hotel – Chicago / May 2nd, 1927,” marked “F. C. Hibbard – © 1927.” Measure 6″ height. These bookends are modeled after a large fountain designed by Frederick Cleveland Hibbard, a noted Chicago sculptor. The bookends were a gift to the guests at the hotel’s grand opening. The Steven’s Hotel was the largest hotel in the world when it opened in 1927.
