This is a rare antique cast iron coin bank called, “The Capitalist”. Circa 1890. This cast iron still bank is rated “E”, meaning that they are unusual to show up from collections. This bank is listed in Andy and Susan Moore’s book, and it is number #5. He stands 5″ tall, 2 3/8″ wide and 2″ deep. This is a rare bank depicting a Banker/Capitalist as rotund and full of himself. The implication is that he got fat on his profits. Manufactured in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, by the little-known firm Ober Manufacturing Company, you will not want to miss adding this bank to your own personal antique bank collection.
