Carved Dutch Windmill Scene in Old Wooden Spoon – Lawrence, Kansas

This is a unique all original carved wooden spoon which depicts a Dutch windmill in the well of the spoon and reads the words, ‘Lawrence, Kansas’. This carved windmill is known as the Windmill on the Square. We were told that this windmill was removed from their town square there in Lawrence, Kansas in about the year 1905. Notice that there is also some carving on the backside of this large wooden spoon. This spoon measures 18″ long and the well in the spoon portion measures approximately 6 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, and is approximately  1 3/4″ deep. If you collect Dutch windmills or items from the Lawrence, Kansas area this is a folk art item that you will not want to miss adding to your own personal collection.
