Country Store Grabber Tool

This is an early tool that was used in an old country store. The rod is made of bamboo and attached to this pole is a metal extension on the tip of the pole that when you operate the trigger on the opposite end of the bamboo pole makes the metal extensions come together like fingers. This would be used to reach light weight items on high shelves. On the metal portion that triggers this movement there is the impressed words, ‘Pat. Applied For’. The pole measures 78″ long and the metal fingers on the end of the pole are 4 1/2″ long approximately.
