This is an exceptional all original piece of signed, blue mark, Nippon that depicts two detailed birds in flight. The shape of the vase is also very intriguing to match this exceptional subject matter which has been done in such fine detail. I have been told that this same example of a mold for a vase can be found in the antique reference book of Van Patton’s Nippon the 5th Series on page 166. The choice of natural colors along with the gold highlights makes this Nippon piece one that you can’t help but be drawn to. This vase would make an exceptional addition to one’s Nippon collection. The vase measures 10 3/4″ high and at the widest point the base is 7 1/2″ diameter. Excellent all original condition.
