Extra Large Cheese or Food Grater – Cast Iron and Metal – 1872

Exceptional large kitchen collectible utensil which serves as a cheese or food grater. Notice that this utensil is marked by its manufacturer with the words, ‘Houchin Manufacturing Company – New York – Patent January 11, 1870 and April 3, 1872’. This piece measures 6 1/2″ diameter on the widest end and 5″ diameter on the opposite end. When clamped to a surface this grater is 10″ high above the counter. You can clamp this onto a table that is approximately 1 3/4″ thick.
