Antique Victorian Carved Oak Library Table . This beautiful desk is made of solid quarter sawn oak. There is a carved lion head at each corner There is a drawer with a carved North wind face in the center. This drawer was made with the Knapp Joint. (It was one of the first successful machine-made joints used mainly 1890 to 1900.) The main use for this joint was drawer construction replacing the hand-cut dovetail joint on better furniture. Measures 28″ x 42″ and 30 1/2″ height. Circa 1890. This is from the collection from Florida.
