This slanted front glass oak display case was used in the country store to display and sell ‘Brighton Silk Garters’. The price was 25 cents and they advertised that their silk garters were absolutely flat! This case can be accessed with the top hinged compartment, or there was a few boxes that could be stored behind the slanted glass front. Notice that on the inside of the top lid there is an original paper label that reads, ‘Cautionary notice and warning – This cabinet is loaned for the exclusive display and sale of Brighton Garters! The case was made by Pioneer Suspender Company of Philadelphia, PA. There is instructions given on how to use this cabinet in selling the garters. It reads, ‘This cabinet will yield the best results if when making a sale you will drop the glass and allow the purchaser to select the color desired from those displayed in front, then fill up the vacant space from the interior of the cabinet. By this method your customer always has a full assortment from which to select. This cabinet measures 14″ wide is 13″ deep at the deepest point and 7 1/2″ deep on the top. The height is 10″ high. Great all original piece of country store advertising for your collection!
