This all original oak antique self standing book shelf holds the four encyclopaedic dictionary books that were published by Syndicate Publishing Company of Philadelphia, PA. in 1896. These four books are a exhaustive dictionary and comprehensive encyclopaedia of all the arts and sciences with condensed encyclopaedic definitions of 50,000 important words and topics. There is numerous illustrations. This original oak book shelf measures 13 3/4″ wide is 19″ high and 9 3/4″ deep. Note that there is some Eastlake carvings on the top gallery portion of this book shelf. Circa 1900.
