This cast iron Owl Bank is the slot in book variation of this bank, which is more difficult to find than the slot in head variant. Kilgore’s Owl mechanical bank was designed by sculptor M. Elizabeth Cook for the important Westerville, Ohio, toy company. This bank has the nickel plated coin trap, which is often missing. The bank has a very simple but appealing movement: its eyes blink up and down when a coin is pressed into its slot. Measures 5 3/4″ Height, 2 1/2″ wide and 2″ deep.
