Paramount Copper Washing Machine and Salesman sample – 1925

Exceptional find, both the regular Paramount washing machine and the exceptional salesman sample washer. What an exciting combination. This is an adorable all original salesman sample Paramount Washing Machine. The handle has great advertising on it, done in raised lettering it reads; ‘Paramount Steam Washer Co., Kansas City, Kansas. – Pat. Aug. 11, 1925’. All the gears and working mechanisms are there and complete and in working order. Copper base with tin lining inside. Attached handles on both the base and lid of the washer. As one can see this salesman sample is just like the larger washer. This is a great find; you just can’t find very many of these small salesman sample washers. It measures 8 1/2″ diameter and the base stands 5 1/2″ high, and with the lid on it is 8 1/2″ high. We have an antique article which states that another salesman sample copper Paramount washer has brought $3,500.00 back in 2002. The larger Paramount washer has the same identifying markings as the salesman sample washer, notice that the patent date on it is March 1916. The larger washer measures 19″ in diameter and is 18″ high to the top of the handle. What a unique display to have both the salesman sample and the larger Paramount Steam Washers.  I have a copy of an old receipt showing that the regular wash machine was offered for $39. 00 originally. Don’t miss adding these to your own personal antique collections.
