This is a marked piece of ‘Pisgah Forest’ pottery that is done in the shape of a vase yet there has purposefully been slots or holes made into the sides of the vase to allow for what I am guessing would be light to shine through. In the bottom of the vase there is melted candle wax. So it would appear that this large vase would serve the purpose to hold a candle and allow the light to pass through the holes yet protect the surface of the furniture on which the candle was burning, from the dripping wax. ThisĀ candle holder measures 5 3/4″ high and is approximately 5″ in diameter.
